My name is Sofia Argüello. I was born in Río Ceballos, Córdoba, Argentina and I now live in Turin, in Northern Italy.
My educational journey took different paths, from music when I was a child, to anthropology at university, and later photography. Today, I feel that I am getting closer to bringing these interests together, driven by the desire to discover new worlds and different ways of expression.

In blue
While living in Noto I began In blue, a cyanotype and photography project. I chose this technique to explore impermanence, movement and the passage of time.

The artworks that you will see are originals. No two are the same! Behind each is the work of taking the photograph, then the images are transformed into negatives and finally into a cyanotype artwork. This is the core process, some also incorporate other materials which allow the colour or shape to change.
